Cusco Half Day Rock Climbing Tour
Here some frequently asked question about trekking and climbing
1. How long does the Half-Day Tour actually last?
The total duration is approximately 4 to 5 hours, which includes round-trip transportation from Cusco, safety briefings, instruction, and plenty of time on the rock wall.
2. Is the Half-Day Tour suitable for complete beginners?
Absolutely! The Half-Day Tour is perfect for beginners and those trying climbing for the first time. We focus on basic techniques and shorter, more accessible routes, ensuring a fun and safe introduction.
3. Does the shorter duration affect the quality of the climb or the views?
Not at all. We utilize a climbing sector close to Cusco (like Cachimayo or a nearby Sacred Valley location) that minimizes travel time, allowing you to maximize climbing time and still enjoy fantastic Andean scenery.
4. What time does the tour start and end?
We typically offer two sessions: a Morning session (e.g., 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM) and an Afternoon session (e.g., 1:30 PM - 6:00 PM). This allows tourists flexibility to fit the tour into their itinerary. (Specify your actual times).
5. What equipment is provided for the Half-Day Tour?
All necessary high-quality safety gear is provided, including harnesses, helmets, climbing shoes, and all technical equipment (ropes, belay devices). You just need to show up ready to climb.
6. Do I need to worry about altitude sickness on this short tour?
While the climbing spot may be slightly lower than Cusco (3,400m), we still highly recommend spending at least two days acclimatizing in Cusco before your climb to ensure you feel well and can enjoy the activity.
7. What should I bring with me since it's only a half-day?
Bring a small daypack with water, sunscreen, sunglasses, and comfortable athletic clothing (layers are best). You won't need a full lunch, but a small snack is a good idea.
8. Is transportation included in the price?
Yes, round-trip transportation from a central meeting point in Cusco (or your hotel if accessible) to the climbing site and back is included in the tour price.
9. Can I bring children on the Half-Day Tour?
Yes, the Half-Day Tour is great for families. We typically allow children ages 8 and up, provided they are accompanied by a parent/guardian and fit safely into the provided climbing gear. (Specify your minimum age).
10. What happens if the weather is bad?
Climbing safety is paramount. If we determine the weather (heavy rain, lightning, or high winds) makes climbing unsafe, we will offer to reschedule your tour for another half-day session or provide a full refund.
